Flounder / Fluke are a great tasting fish but sometimes can be hard to catch. Catching Flounder is all in the rigging. The rigging consists of a three way swivel, two and a half feet going to sinker and about 3 feet of line going to a viper spoon. On the end of the viper spoon you can rig squid. (You can also rig cut bait or live bait). Fish these methods with wind, tide or current enough to push the boat along allowing the viper spoon to drag the bottom. Flounder are predators ambushing prey by feeding ground in the soft mud of the sea bottom, near bridge piles, docks, and other bottom encumbrances. The flounder’s diet consists mainly of fish spawn, crabs, lobsters, crayfish, shrimp, krill, barnacles, small sea worms and small fish. Flounder are not born with both eyes situated on one side of there head but a metamorphosis happens and one eye migrates to the other side of there body over time. Here is a video on how to rig your line for Flounder / Fluke.
